Table Sport Safety

Just because sports like table tennis, pool and table hockey are played on small surfaces does not mean that safety issues should be ignored. If playing table tennis indoors, there should be enough room to allow for chasing the ball and backswinging. Other wise smashing your hand and falling are likely. Care should also be taken when hitting at the ball. A lot of force goes into the swing and being hit by the bat, cue or ball could cause injury to children or spectators.

For those playing table football, the steel poles can be painful if they are rammed into someone. Look for a table football featuring telescopic safety poles to prevent serious injuries. When playing pool, you can ensure safety by keeping a clear space behind you when striking a ball. Pool balls are also quite heavy and should never be thrown around or left on the floor where someone could trip.
